You may have noticed a few tweaks to yourcountdown.be ...
First of all, the site is now wider. This for better display on larger monitors. Second, the news page got a fresh update, too. It’s now easier to find out what posts are about (and also fixed that awful mobile design). Additionally, Instagram images have been added to the homepage, singles have been added to the each Album page and the Bio page has also been updated.
A few more things might get an update in the near future. Especially you mobile users will notice a revamp here and there on the site. More soon!

I’m gonna keep this short, but I wanted to let you all know that One Night Only, my new album, is available as a free download right here!
It’s been an awesome trip, and I’m so happy to finally get this one online. Today I’m celebrating 9 years with this project, and I’m sure I couldn’t do it any better than with this album. This Friday I'm releasing One Night Only on Youtube! One song of the new album every half hour, starting at 6PM (Western European Time). The last song will be online by 11.30PM. Discover the album, one song at a time!
I will also be at Twitter & Facebook, answering your questions and giving a personal insight when a new song releases. Due to my working schedule I'll start tweeting somewhere between 7 - 8PM.
The download of the album (in .aif for the best quality) will be available on Monday.

Today we’re starting something new and beautiful

I released a new single today! Usually that doesn’t mean a lot. I’ve released plenty of singles in the past 8, almost 9 even, years. This single, however, is different, ‘cause in my opinion it’s the intro for the most beautiful album I’ve ever produced. Is that a weird thing to think, let alone to say it outloud? I don’t know. It truly feels that way.
Empty Mind, Join Me manages to say goodbye to the Frozen Waves-era without cutting it off completely. It keeps those right elements introduced 3 years ago and builds upon them. When Your Countdown turns 9 years old, on 18th April, I will release One Night Only, the follow-up album of
Frozen Waves.
Today you’ll be able to have a taste. In the next few weeks I’ll start releasing the artwork, teasers and complete tracks of One Night Only!
I can’t wait for you to hear what I’ve been working on for these last three years!

Hey there! It's been a while, but as the production of my new album is nearing completion I decided to release a single which has nothing to do with this exciting new chapter!
I created "When You're Not Around" while on vacation with my family. The song tries to express how it feels when you really miss someone. Even though you may look calm and relaxed on the surface, you know that missing someone can really drive you crazy.
Even though I made this song about 3 months ago I'd like to dedicate this one to my dog, who I had to let go recently.
I really hope you like this one. In my opinion it's a different approach to the usual Your Countdownsound.
Emfox's edit of this song adds even more heavy electronica to the already good single edit.

Good news everyone! Welcome to the brand new website of Your Countdown! Feel free to click around on this new experience, and I hope you all enjoy it!
And there is more good news: A new single, "Dawn", is coming the 1st of June! You can already enjoy the artwork now. Also, make sure to check back from time to time, as I just finished the next album. More news will follow soon!

Great news! In about 3 weeks I'll be performing @ the 3rd Belgian Youtube Gathering! It's a great opportunity if you've missed the presentation of Frozen Waves last year, since this set will be even longer than the one I played at Rumba!
What else is planned? Well, first of all a lot of famous Belgian and Dutch Youtubers will give an insight in their way of creating content, the first ever live set by +Ryblack and the presentation of "Tubers", the anthem I have created for this event. This anthem will also be released as a free download soon after the event has finished. Did I mention I'll give away free downloads of Frozen Waves to anyone who wants one?
That's pretty much everything that has been confirmed at this moment! Tickets cost 6€ a piece and the event takes place from 1PM until 6PM at Club Montreal (Naamsestraat 34, 3000 Leuven). I hope to see you all there, I'm really looking forward to playing some old and some Frozen Waves, but most importantly, to try out 10+ more new songs.

It's been a while since I released the "It Might Rain" EP. This EP was downloadable for 1 weekend only and featured a few new concepts which I have been working on. I received a lot of awesome reactions to this EP, in particular about a little song called "Different". People seemed to really like the melodic 100BPM-track I created while I was on vacation.
This takes us back to this moment. I've been working on Different. Quite a lot actually. A lot has changed, though the simple melody that made it catchy stayed the same. It's time to offer it to you again, only this time it will be online for a really long time. On 22 November you will be able to download both the Single Edit and the Extended Edit (8+ minutes) for free on this website! Don't worry if you think that's still a long time from now. You're able to listen to the Single Edit on the homepage and in the next week I'll post a preview on Youtube.
I hope you'll get this one when it comes out next week! Mark your calendars: 22 November - Different.

Hey There,
I just released a compilation of 24 clips. All of these clips were created after finishing "Frozen Waves", which probably means as much as "this is 3rd-era-stuff". Two.Zero and Frozen Waves, 2 albums of which I'm extremely proud, were really important to me on an emotional level. Both told a great story, both albums contained songs that'll stick with who I am for the rest of my life.
Lately I've been thinking about Your Countdown a lot. I'm growing up, going to get a job soon and I'm moving in with the most amazing girl I've ever met. A lot of these changes require a lot of energy and time, and I don't know if I can give the amount of energy required for a new album anytime soon. Don't get me wrong. Working on both Two.Zero and recently Frozen Waves (which involved a lot of people) was a blessing for both my body and soul. I wouldn't want these albums to be different. I love them both, start to finish.
Now though, I'm not so sure if I there'll be a 3rd album, soon or ever. I'll probably keep making music, no doubt about that. But I don't feel like working for 2 years on an album is something I want to do anymore. I'd rather just get smaller projects going, so that I can release singles and/or EP's that take a few weeks to produce, start to finish. If one day I feel the need to tell a larger story I will however jump on the album-wagon again. See, it's a bit weird in my head. But I just wanted to share that with anyone interested.
The compilation of clips below therefore will contain a lot of stuff that will not be released in the near future or at all. But that's the point of all these concepts. They're there to calm my mind. Sometimes a concept is no more than 30 seconds long, sometimes it's a complete 6-minute track. Basically, this 7.5-minute contains every emotion I went through in the last 6 months. For a long time this will be all you can hear of these tracks (unless you're coming to live gigs. I love playing new stuff), but I hope you like at least some of them :)
We'll keep in touch. I'm already working on what should become an amazing new single.

Quick update, because 1) I still want to upload the Extended Edit of Trust This Feeling to Youtube, 2) because I don't feel like typing and 3) because I want to play some Skyrim.
As you already know: Trust This Feeling is out as a free single right now! Go get the full single or, if you're not into big downloads (the complete single is 41 minutes), get the single edit from my Soundcloud.
Cool! Second! I'm releasing a new song called "Distance (feat. Delay Tea)" on 5th September (free. Duh.) More info on this release can be found on the info-page on my website!
That's it! Let's start working on single #3! I hope you love Trust This Feeling as much as I did making it. It's a song that took ages to get right. I hope you like what we did with it :)

it's pretty late, so I don't want to say a lot of words, but rather just make some quick announcements so that I can go to bed.
First things first: THERE'S A NEW SINGLE COMING OUT NEXT FRIDAY - about damn time. "Trust This Feeling (feat. Paulien and Tijs)" will be available as a free download and will feature 7 tracks. For more info you can head over to the Trust This Feeling miniwebsite on this website. The release of this single was delayed multiple times because I wanted to create a clip to go along with the single. In a perfect world it would've been a perfect fit with the Remember This-video. I did however get some opportunities in different fields which I couldn't deny. Therefore I have to announce that there will be no video for this single. Future singles are not sure to get a clip as well.
Second of all: Quentin Debode had challenged me, a couple of vlogs ago, to remix that particular vlog. This challenge meant to take a break from all the serious stuff that's going on right now and to just "create" something. Though the result is not what I usually make I hope people can see the joke and pleasure that went into this track in the first place. You can download and listen to the song right here.
Third and final. I actually don't really have that one yet. So erm, feel free to browse some more while I try to come up with another one!

Hey guys,
I just had to fight against the first illegal copy of Frozen Waves on the web and had it taken down.
I don't mind if you listen to the album for free. That's why I put it up on Spotify and Deezer in the first place! The thing is that with these services I get a lot of info on the people that listen to their music, which might be an important aspect to venues when I'm trying to get booked. If you download the album from an illegal source this means you don't "show" your support. Even when you really like the music and even if you refer your friends to my music you remain an invisible fan to those statistics.
If you can spare some money you can get the complete album on iTunes and Amazon, but feel free to listen to your heart's desire both on Spotify and Deezer!

Remember This (feat. Lies) - Single
Wednesday evening I'll release the first single of the Frozen Waves-album as a free download! With this single being the official start of the Frozen Waves-era it's clear that this album won't fit in just one genre. We also made a pretty beautiful clip for it! If you haven't seen that yet you can do that right here!
With Remember This (feat. Lies) about to be released it's all starting to close in on us.
Frozen Waves
The new album will be available 2nd May as a free download worldwide. Normally it should be available on iTunes, Spotify and other services, so don't hold back to check your favorite internet store or streaming platform to see if Frozen Waves is available starting from 2nd May!

This download contains exactly the same content as the album, though I know there are some people out there who love the feel of holding an album.

Hey there!
Good job finding your way to the new website! You will probably know by now that I'm a few months away from releasing my 2nd album (or 7th if you count "The Beat Machine", "Waiting For The Day You See Me", "Enemy", "Sunrise Beauty" and "On My Own Side", but those are for the die-hards). The album will be called "Frozen Waves" and right now it is available as a pré-order! For more info on how to get the new album you should head over to the Frozen Waves-page on this site.
There's also a release party planned at Rumba, located in Leuven, on 29 April 2013. If you're interested in joining you can find more info on this event right here!
